Adding digital PIN locking to a school staff room or equipment store ensures children have no access

London, September 2021 – Staff and school administrators can relax when they know private rooms and equipment stores are properly secured. Currently many teachers must carry around cumbersome keys to ensure pupils do not enter rooms which could put themselves or valuable school equipment at risk.

With Code Handle®, this is possible without having to constantly lock and unlock doors by key. Instead, a PIN is all that is required.

Code Handle is a locking handle with built-in digital PIN keypad. It upgrades security at any private interior door that opens onto a public or busy space. You simply swap the existing door handle for a Code Handle to add digital PIN security without keys or any push-button mechanical lock.

Easy to retrofit to almost any internal door
A Code Handle can bring keyless, wire-free digital security without disrupting the school day. Fitting takes just two screws: An installer leaves the existing cylinder or lock in place and simply swaps the handle. It is easy even for non-specialists.

With the administrator’s Master Code, a school caretaker or office manager can issue up to nine different 4- to 6-digit PINs to authorized users — and amend or cancel PINs whenever they choose.

To power the lock’s digital security, standard batteries slot into the handle itself. There is no need to run cables to the door or to connect to the mains, nor to use any access control software. Batteries typically last 30,000 lock/unlock cycles before replacement: A visual indicator on the handle prompts when it is time. Code Handle is robust: fire door compliant (EN 1634) and with a certified lifetime of at least 100,000 operations.

Code Handle’s design also makes disinfecting easier. Unlike mechanical push-button PIN locks, a Code Handle has a smoother surface without corners or ridges. Germs have fewer places to hide. A disinfected damp cloth — no direct liquid spraying — is all you need to keep a Code Handle hygienic and school doors and stores secured.

Partizan and SATEL — integration and new opportunities

In September 2021, work on the integration of Partizan software with SATEL security devices was successfully completed.

Hi Shirley! Can you tell us what is WizMind exactly?
Sure. Powered by deep learning algorithm, the Dahua WizMind is basically a comprehensive portfolio of project-oriented AI products and solutions, including IPC, NVR, PTZ, XVR, thermal imaging devices, and software platforms. It is designed to meet the complex requirements of high-end vertical markets, such as retail, energy, finance and transportation. Its main applications are based on human and vehicle, which address the ever escalating complexity of security challenges like large flow of people and vehicles. At the same time, it also provides applications based on object and thermal imaging.

Aside from providing basic functions, can human-based WizMind benefit business analysis as well?
Yes, of course. The human-based WizMind offers intelligent AI features like face recognition, privacy protection, human video metadata, stereo analysis, people counting and so on. It provides accurate data based on human attributes and behaviors, which can help users to respond to the situation accordingly. It’s widely used in urban roads, residential communities, parking lots and toll stations to alleviate traffic congestion and improve driver’s experience. The Dahua Smart Parking Management Solution, for example, can help drivers locate an available parking space in real time. The WizMind ANPR IPC can be deployed at the entrance/exit of a residential complex to automatically identify the residents’ vehicle number plates. It provides convenience to drivers and helps save labor costs.

There’s a WizMind function that can help find missing items, is that true?
Yes! It’s possible using our object-based WizMind. It is equipped with deep learning algorithms that can detect objects like boxes, backpacks, luggage bags, bikes, etc. It effectively filters out interference caused by light, animals and other irrelevant objects, thus providing accurate alarm and reducing false alarms. With these capabilities, it can offer real-time detection of abandoned or missing objects with linkage alarm connected to the administrator to find missing items in time. It is suitable for railway stations, bus stations, and airports, where there’s a large flow of travelers and commuters on daily basis. In some cases, it is also used to detect objects obstructing fire lanes and fire exits.

How does WizMind use thermal imaging technology to detect intrusion and early fire?
Basically, WizMind utilizes thermal imaging technology to achieve 24/7 ultra-long range monitoring that can recognize human and vehicle even from far distances and even under harsh environments with fog, haze, snow, and so on. A Dahua thermal camera can be deployed in perimeter areas as it can detect both people and vehicles from afar, which helps alert authorities in time in case of intrusion. It is also ideal in ports and docks to detect water vessels even in harsh weather conditions. Aside from that, these WizMind thermal cameras can also help prevent waste and forest fires at an early stage because it can detect mild differences in temperature change.

Can third-party platforms integrate with the Dahua WizMind series?
Yes they can! The Dahua WizMind is compatible with global video management systems, like Milestone, Axxon, Avigilon, ISS, Qognify, and Mirasys. Users can use our very own Dahua Open Platform (DHOP) for WizMind IPCs and thermal cameras based on their actual needs. Motorola wins $82m contract with German navy

Motorola Solutions has been selected by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) to provide secure digital radio communications for 16 naval vessels and training platforms for the German Navy.

The contract, valued at $82.3 million (€69.9 million), will deliver mission-critical communications to support onboard security teams who are responsible for the safety of crews at sea and the operational readiness of naval vessels.

Motorola Solutions will roll out digital TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) networks on each of the 16 vessels and integrate the systems into the navy’s existing IT infrastructure. The new solution will provide onboard security personnel with visibility of the real-time operational status of each of the naval platforms, and portable TETRA radios enabling instant workgroup communications between teams.
