Motorola Solutions has been selected by Bulgaria’s Ministry of the Interior to deploy 13,400 V500 body cameras across the National Police Service. This nationwide initiative aims to increase transparency, provide real-time intelligence to police control rooms, and improve safety for both officers and the public.
The V500 body cameras will enhance the police force’s response capabilities to everyday incidents and emergencies while addressing public demands for greater accountability. Alongside the cameras, Motorola Solutions’ VideoManager evidence management software will enable officers to securely upload, store, and manage footage seamlessly within their existing workflows.
“The new body cameras are a pivotal element in our digitalization strategy to modernize policing and elevate how we safeguard and serve our communities,” said Daniel Mitov, Bulgaria’s Minister of the Interior. “This investment highlights our commitment to trust, transparency, and enhanced collaboration between officers and control room personnel.”
Axel Kukuk, Vice President of Sales Europe at Motorola Solutions, added, “Body cameras provide eyes-on-scene clarity in high-stress situations and create reliable records of critical events. Bulgaria’s deployment sets an excellent example of how technology can improve safety and security.”
The LTE-enabled V500 cameras integrate with Motorola’s MXP600 TETRA radios, allowing officers to stream live video to command staff while calling for assistance via an emergency button. Bulgaria joins several European agencies, including France, Lithuania, Germany, and the UK, already using Motorola’s body camera solutions. This project reinforces Motorola Solutions’ commitment to supporting public safety through innovative technology. The successful rollout is expected to further strengthen trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
