Eagle Eye Networks Delivers 4G, Direct-to-Cloud Body Camera Designed for the Commercial Market

Secure 4G and Wi-Fi capabilities, two-way audio, geo-tagging, and alarm features combine with Eagle Eye Networks true cloud infrastructure for unrivaled body camera offering for retail, guarding companies, in-home service companies, and other commercial entities

AUSTIN, Texas – Eagle Eye Networks, the global leader in cloud video surveillance, today introduced the first-of-its-kind 4G, direct-to-cloud body camera designed specifically for commercial use. This new offering provides commercial customers with affordable access to feature-rich, professional-grade body camera services, which improve staff safety and accountability, trigger immediate response, and provide valuable evidence, all while protecting assets and keeping communities safe. Eagle Eye Body Cameras are now available for order with delivery in Q3.

Body cameras dissuade aggression, improve accountability, and reduce false accusations. Employees from private security guards to retail staff, in-home service providers, and delivery workers feel safer and more valued when wearing body cameras.

Global research organization Omdia has identified body cameras in non-law enforcement applications as a top trend in 2021, saying the potential addressable market for commercial body-worn cameras dwarfs that of law enforcement. In the U.S. alone, Omdia estimates private security guards outnumber police officers 2-to-1, and says new commercial body camera users – in retail, for example – are rapidly emerging.

“The commercial body-worn camera market is ripe for new entrants,” said Paul Bremner, Principal Analyst in Omdia’s critical communications group. “Features such as cloud connectivity, 4G, live streaming, GPS, and price, are important to retailers, delivery services, guards, and others in the commercial sector. New body cam providers who can break the old law enforcement body camera mold with reasonably priced, feature-rich, professional-grade body cameras are positioning themselves to fill a growing need the commercial market is searching for,” Bremner said.

Resellers are welcoming the arrival of body cameras that meet their needs. Jaime Abad Valdenebro, Chief Executive Officer at OmniCloud, said he is excited that Eagle Eye Networks is launching commercial body camera support to its Eagle Eye CameraManager platform. “Fixed IP cameras integrated with 4G-enabled body cameras represent the extension of video cloud services in a real mobile environment, providing a new disruptive video surveillance solution,” Valdenebro said.

“In a smart city application, Eagle Eye’s new 4G, direct-to-cloud body cams will provide extra protection for security guards and ensure patrols are completed on time. The 4G is important, because it gives the user live access to body camera video. It will make a high performance true cloud video surveillance system even more powerful,” he added.

With Eagle Eye Body Cameras, users can:

– Use 4G or Wi-Fi for live streaming, real-time remote viewing, and direct to cloud recording
– Blend fixed, mobile, and body-worn cameras, making it easier for your entire surveillance system to work together
– Stream to a monitoring or security operations center and use geo-tagging for immediate response and support
– Experience a larger viewing area with fisheye capabilities that are dewarped in the Eagle Eye Cloud Management Application
– Manage a large number of cameras in the cloud and watch from a control room
– Use two-way audio to clearly communicate
– Protect your people at work and in the community
– Future-proof your investment with hardened cameras that offer “law enforcement-level” durability and quality at an affordable price
– Gain flexibility for live streaming and video retrieval during docking with rapid recharge capabilities

“The demand for high-quality body cameras that connect to the cloud has been growing for several years, accelerating even more with the pandemic, social unrest, and the shift to providing more in-home, curbside, and remote services,” said Dean Drako, Founder and CEO of Eagle Eye Networks. “Traditional law enforcement body cameras use a high-dollar subscription model, which is too steeply priced for commercial customers. Eagle Eye Networks will support the new Eagle Eye Body Cameras at the same low subscription cost of fixed cameras, making the solution affordable for commercial customers accustomed to paying up front for advanced cameras with affordable long-term subscriptions,” he added.

Body cameras are initially available on the Eagle Eye Networks CameraManager platform, with availability on the Eagle Eye Cloud Video Management System (VMS) in 2022. The Eagle Eye Body Cams can also be protected with Eagle Eye Networks industry-leading rapid replacement service.

Top-class presentation platform for the international security industry from 20 to 23 September 2022 at Messe Essen

Supporting program with DNS Congress, Fire Protection Forum and Award

The security industry is currently experiencing a growth. The drastic increase in teleworking has fuelled the IT security market in particular. Companies want to rely on home offices on a permanent basis and must invest in a secure digital infrastructure. At the same time, the protection of highly sensitive areas such as clinics, pharmaceutical companies or vaccination centres has become more relevant. The desire of the security industry to be able to meet and exchange ideas in person again is great – the best conditions, therefore, for Security Essen. After a break due to the pandemic, it will offer the security industry a top-class presentation platform from 20 to 23 September 2022 at Messe Essen. Innovations and new products in the field of electronic and mechanical security technology are just as much the focus as cyber security and fire protection. The extensive accompanying program guarantees new input and profitable contacts.

“The topic of safety affects numerous areas of life and work and has taken on new dimensions. The industry therefore has a great need to exchange ideas in person and to present new products. We are pleased to once again be able to provide a top-class platform for this with Security Essen. The measures to combat the Corona pandemic are taking effect, so that we can plan a fair with an international orientation for autumn 2022”, Oliver P. Kuhrt, Managing Director of Messe Essen, looks ahead to the coming event. Around 500 exhibitors are expected at the new start, more than half of them from abroad. Divided into the areas of video; access, mechatronics, mechanics, systems & perimeter; fire, burglary & systems as well as services & digital networking security, the entire spectrum of the security industry will be represented.

One fair – many options
Interested exhibitors have various options for becoming part of Security Essen – whether individually with their own stand or on a joint stand. Companies wishing to participate for the first time can book a time- and cost-saving complete package. This includes, among other things, stand construction, 20 admission tickets for customers and a discount on advertising space in the fairground.
Young founders from Germany receive funding from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy if they participate in the joint stand of the “Young Innovative Companies”. International start-ups can secure a place in the “International Start-up Area” and thus easily address potential investors and customers of tomorrow.
The registration forms are now available at www.security-essen.de.

Target group-specific fair programme
A target group-specific supporting programme rounds off the fair. For example, the Digital Networking Security Congress will focus on comprehensive information on the topics of security in networks, IT security, interfaces and cyber threats. The Fire Protection Forum and special tours for architects and planners are also organised. The best innovations from all exhibition areas will be honoured with the Security Innovation Award.

G4S and Nedap help Flemish government upgrade site access

The Flemish Government has chosen AEOS access control by Nedap to secure its sites across Belgium and other European countries. A 6-year framework contract was awarded to Nedap channel partner G4S. This will involve G4S replacing the technology for more than 4,000 doors with AEOS.

The new AEOS system will accommodate up to 50 software users and will feature various integrations, including visitor management, automatic number plate recognition, mobile readers and QR code readers.

The Flemish Government was looking for an open system that provides the freedom to select which technology it integrates and which installers it works with.

Standardisation across Europe

The Government also wants to streamline its systems and processes. It currently has a wide mix of access control systems at its premises in various locations and wants to introduce more standardisation through AEOS.

As a large firm with teams of project managers, technicians, programmers and more, G4S has the capability to handle such a big, multi-faceted project. And to provide the great-quality, responsive service and scalability the Flemish Government is looking for.

Tom van de Moer at the Flemish Government says: “We’re looking forward to working with G4S and Nedap on this project. The detailed conversations they conducted during the tender process reassured us that we’ll receive a high-quality system and service. AEOS has the flexibility to adapt to our needs at each location, however intricate the demands, while standardising our processes nationally and internationally.”

Make faster, better traffic management decisions with Hikvision Traffic Visualization Dashboard

June 8th, 2021 – In today’s crowded cities, effective traffic management is critical for reducing congestion and preventing accidents. With the Hikvision Traffic Visualization Dashboard, traffic managers can view historical and real-time traffic information, helping them make the best decisions and improve outcomes for road users and residents.

The growing traffic management challenge
Cities around the world are experiencing major traffic management challenges related to congestion, air pollution, slow journey times, and increased road accidents. With 68% of people expected to live in cities by 2050 (compared to 55% today), and tough demands for sustainability and lower emissions, the challenges are set to increase exponentially.

In an attempt to keep traffic flowing and to maximize road safety, many cities are investing in roadside infrastructure to monitor traffic conditions – including cameras and sensors at key junctions. However, with no way to convert vast quantities of traffic data into actionable insights, this kind of infrastructure can rarely support effective strategic and real-time traffic responses.

Converting traffic data into actionable insights

To help authorities overcome their immediate and longer-term traffic management challenges, Hikvision has created the Traffic Visualization Dashboard. This integrates data from roadside cameras and sensors, and displays it to traffic management teams via an immersive, map-based interface.

With options to overlay historical and real-time traffic data on either a 2D or 3D map, it gives traffic managers fast, easy access to the information they need. The dashboard can also be customized quickly and easily, allowing teams to focus on the traffic information that is most important to them – from vehicle counting and congestion information, to traffic incidents and violations – such as drivers who break the speed limit, drive without their seat belts fastened, or run red lights.

Key benefits of the Traffic Visualization Dashboard
Optimized traffic management decisions

The Hikvision solution combines historical and real-time traffic data to help managers understand key traffic trends, helping them to make better planning decisions. In particular, the Traffic Visualization Dashboard can support better decisions on which kinds of traffic management policies and solutions to implement, from signal optimization, to access management solutions and congestion charging schemes.

By helping traffic managers to make better long-term planning decisions, the Traffic Visualization Dashboard can help to tackle traffic issues such as traffic congestion and other negative impacts of excessive traffic.

Real-time incident responses and improved traffic violation management

As well as helping to inform long-term traffic planning, the solution helps teams to identify and respond to traffic incidents and violations in near-real-time. This helps to keep key corridors on the road network as clear as possible, helping to speed up journey times for road users.

Actionable traffic insights ‘at a glance’

The solution provides 2D and 3D map options that model junctions and traffic corridors accurately, and to scale. The map-based interface provides a fully immersive experience that allows traffic and incident managers to quickly spot congestion and to detect traffic incidents and violations in different areas of the city – all in a matter of seconds.

With no need to generate reports to understand real-time traffic conditions and ongoing traffic trends, managers can also make faster, better informed decisions – helping to optimize traffic flow and public safety.

To find out more about Hikvision’s Traffic Visualization Dashboard and how it can help your city or road network to address immediate and longer term traffic management challenges, contact us today.

Key features of the Hikvision Traffic Visualization Dashboard

• Immersive 2D or 3D map-based interface for traffic insights ‘at a glance’

• Simple configuration for specific use cases – including congestion management and traffic violation management
