Zenitel’s EXIGO PAGA System Receives MED Certification, Strengthening Maritime Safety Across Europe

Zenitel has achieved a major milestone in maritime safety as its EXIGO PAGA system is now officially MED certified, providing shipyards and operators with fully type-approved PA/GA solutions that meet the strictest EU requirements. This certification removes uncertainty in project planning, accelerates procurement processes, and confirms that Exigo is tested and approved for vessels sailing under European flags. The MED certificate, based on the Marine Equipment Directive, is essential for SOLAS-compliant ships as it guarantees safety, performance, and legal conformity at sea.

EXIGO is an IP-based PAGA solution engineered for reliable operation in extreme maritime environments, including high temperatures, humidity, and vibration, while ensuring crystal-clear safety announcements. Its modular and scalable architecture allows customization for different vessel types and seamless integration with other critical onboard communication systems. The certification process was led by independent body DNV, which conducted performance testing and audited Zenitel’s production and quality procedures.

In addition to MED approval, Exigo stands out with advanced cybersecurity protection through DNV Cyber Security Type Approval and compliance with IACS UR E27, reducing integration risks and safeguarding against modern threats. This combination of safety, resilience, and cyber protection makes the system ideal for both newbuild and retrofit projects.

With this certification, Zenitel reinforces its commitment to long-term maritime safety, ensuring that crews and operators can rely on a trusted communication platform that is ready to meet future regulatory demands.
