Gunnebo Entrance Control to Become Part of ASSA ABLOY
Gunnebo Group has announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell its Gunnebo Entrance Control business unit to ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions. The transaction marks an important milestone in Gunnebo Group’s strategic transformation, after which the company will focus exclusively on its Gunnebo Safe Storage business and the development of secure storage solutions. According to the company, this strategic direction will enable a stronger focus on innovation, digitalization, service-based business models, and expanding its global market presence.
“I am excited about the journey ahead for Entrance Control as part of ASSA ABLOY. Over the past decade, we have transformed Gunnebo from an industrial conglomerate into a focused technology company. The combined team brings innovative products, strong service capabilities and highly skilled talent to the market,” said Stefan Syren, President and CEO of Gunnebo Group.
Howard Lang, President of Gunnebo Entrance Control, said that bringing together two organizations with complementary strengths will accelerate innovation, enhance the offering for customers and partners, and further strengthen the company’s position in the entrance control market. “Becoming part of ASSA ABLOY marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our company,” Lang said.
The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to the required regulatory approvals.
