Hytera Enables Medical Team Communication at IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship

Communication solutions from Hytera were deployed to coordinate medical services during the latest IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, held in Nice, France. While athletes competed in a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km cycling course, and a 21.1 km run, their medical safety was overseen by a Euromedicare team consisting of ten doctors and ten nurses, supported by approximately 100 rescue personnel.

With medical teams deployed along a course stretching over 110 kilometers, the main challenge was ensuring fast, uninterrupted communication to enable timely responses to potential incidents. To address this, Hytera’s Push-to-Talk devices, connected to the HyTalk LTE platform, provided instant communication among all medical teams, from the starting line to the finish.

The entire communication system was designed and deployed by Hytera’s partner, ENERGIA DISTRIBUTION, which managed every stage of the project, from the initial feasibility assessment to equipment configuration, demonstrating how modern communication technology can improve medical service coordination and contribute to participant safety at major international sporting events.
