Hikvision announces partnership with security lab Brightsight
Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, announces a partnership with Brightsight, the number one security lab in the world, to work together in combatting cybersecurity issues and securing against attacks. Brightsight will be Hikvision’s lab of choice for security evaluations of their product range.
In 2017, the technology research firm Gartner predicted that more than 20 billion Internet of Things (IoT) devices will be deployed by 2020. Furthermore, Gartner predicts that by 2020, 95 percent of new product designs will contain IoT connectivity. As an active player in IoT, Hikvision will be able to keep on top of the developing trends through its strong relationship with Brightsight.
“Hikvision takes cybersecurity concerns with the utmost seriousness and takes action every day to ensure that our products are not only innovative, but they meet the highest standards of cybersecurity best practices,” says Dr Bin Wang, Chief Officer of Hikvision’s Network Information Security Laboratory and Network Security Department. “Brightsight is a well-known cybersecurity lab globally, and our partnership will help us to strengthen the cybersecurity of all of our products.”
“Our partnership with Hikvision shows our commitment to securing cybersecurity products globally. Hikvision’s commitment to securing their products and looking for Common Criteria accreditation is one of the first important steps in the industry of IoT devices,” says Ernst Bovelander, Chief Business Office at Brightsight. “We are proud to be the security lab for Hikvision and are looking forward to a long partnership.”
