Motorola Solutions Expands Critical Communications Capabilities with Silvus Deal
Motorola Solutions has completed its acquisition of Silvus Technologies Holdings Inc., a Los Angeles-based leader in mission-critical mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET). Silvus’ technology enables secure data, video and voice communications in challenging and contested environments without fixed infrastructure, using self-healing, scalable networks that adapt to continuous mobility.
These robust networks support bandwidth-intensive applications such as video, sensors and drones, making them vital for defense, border security and public safety operations. “Silvus’ advanced solutions for drone and unmanned systems are trusted in the world’s most demanding defense environments,” said Greg Brown, chairman and CEO, Motorola Solutions. “Their capabilities are an excellent complement to our land mobile radio and video technologies.”
With autonomous technologies like drones, vehicles and robots increasingly deployed to keep personnel safe, Silvus’ ultra-low latency communications enable secure remote control and better tactical decision-making. The company’s customer base includes defense agencies, intelligence organizations, law enforcement, and enterprises worldwide.
Motorola Solutions plans to expand Silvus’ reach through its global scale and established relationships with government and public safety clients. Both companies emphasize their shared commitment to innovation that makes the world safer and look forward to developing more advanced solutions together.
