Spark 2027: Where “The Art of And” Becomes Reality

Registration opens as Spark moves to Fira de Barcelona, Montjuïc, expanding its exhibition space and bringing together creative talent, technology innovators and immersive experiences on 3 – 4 February.

Spark, the creative technology event launched as part of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), returns in 2027 with more space for the ideas, innovations and collaborations shaping content production in the creative industries. Moving to a new location, the two-day event will feature more than 2,500 sqm of exhibition space, two content stages and immersive activations exploring the intersection of creativity and technology.

Spark made a strong debut in 2026, welcoming 2,086 visitors from 79 countries and 1,400 companies, with 39% of attendees holding senior decision-making roles. In 2027, Spark will build on this success with a new home at Hall 8 at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue, offering more space for its growing international community.

“Spark is all about the magic that happens when you bring people with big creative ambitions together with the technology that can make those ideas possible”, says Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events, the organiser of Spark. “For some time we’ve known that content creators and technologists want to be in the same room and year one proved that for us. Year two is about giving them more room to build together, and with ISE running alongside, visitors can take what they discover at Spark straight to the people and expertise that can help make it real.”

The Art of And: Bringing creative disciplines together

Under the theme “The Art of And”, Spark will explore how creative disciplines, technologies and production approaches intersect to shape new forms of content and audience experiences.

Across two stages, Spark’s programme will cover pressing topics built around the themes shaping modern content output:

  • Spark Arena – paid-for content. The main stage for big ideas, bold perspectives and deeper conversations about the forces reshaping creativity, content and technology. Hear from leading thinkers and practitioners exploring what’s changing, what’s possible and what comes next.
  • Spark Forum – free-to-attend content. A stage for practical insight and fresh perspectives exploring how creative disciplines draw on one another’s ideas, tools and talent.

Confirmed speakers already include Simon Lachance, Technical Director at Cirque du Soleil; Tim Routledge, BAFTA Award-winning Lighting Designer; Megan Wastell, Expert Advisor, UK City of Culture 2029 at Department for Culture, Media and Sport; Giuseppe Celestino, Creative Partner at Runway and Master Lecturer at LABASAD; Manuel Gómez Zotano, Director of Systems & Innovation at RTVE, and Anna Diaz Ortuño, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Hamill Industries.

Immersive experiences bring ideas to life

Beyond the stages, immersive activations across the Spark floor aim to bring creative ideas and technology together. Returning for its second year, Lab of Tomorrow, promises to be bigger, better and bolder. The entertainment innovation arm of Tomorrowland connects diverse expertise and provides opportunities to test solutions at leading industry events, it helps innovators develop ideas, build partnerships and scale their solutions.

Sol Garden is an immersive art experience that explores the unseen forces within our natural world through projection, sound and visual storytelling. The experience is developed with Artdott as the Immersive Art & Cultural Experiences Partner, and REUKO as the featured artist and creative lead, with Barco, Ross Video and Intorno Labs contributing their technology solutions.

Meanwhile, the Immersive Pavilion will offer hands-on XR discovery, education and creative experimentation, with IMMENSIVA and ESPRONCEDA presenting XR world premieres, showcasing how immersive technology is opening up new possibilities for storytelling.

At Spark, new connections will lead to new creative possibilities. The Creator’s Lounge will provide a dedicated space to exchange ideas, enable collaboration and build new relationships. Local food trucks and dedicated working areas across the show floor will give attendees places to meet, recharge and make the most of their time at the event.

Further announcements about Spark’s immersive experiences, collaborations and programme highlights will follow in the coming weeks, revealing even more ways in which creative ambitions and technology are shaping the future of content production.
