Synology Launches Compact 2-Bay Storage Solution DS225+

Synology has introduced the DiskStation DS225+, a compact 2-bay storage system designed for small teams, branch offices, and edge environments. With built-in synchronization capabilities, the DS225+ integrates seamlessly into existing deployments, making it an ideal choice for connecting branch locations to central offices.

The unit supports up to 40 TB of raw storage when equipped with 20 TB drives and features both a 2.5GbE port and a 1GbE RJ-45 port for fast network connectivity. Engineered to deliver consistent performance and reliability, it is optimized for use with Synology hard drives and follows a strict compatibility framework backed by more than 7,000 hours of testing. Installation of DSM on the DS225+ requires compatible drives to ensure long-term dependability.

Powered by Synology’s DiskStation Manager (DSM), the DS225+ offers a range of business-ready features. Synology Drive turns it into a private cloud with cross-platform access and site-to-site synchronization, while Active Backup Suite provides comprehensive protection for Windows, Linux, and macOS devices, virtual machines, and cloud accounts. Surveillance Station adds scalable video management with real-time intelligent analytics to help protect physical assets.

The DS225+ will be available worldwide through Synology’s network of partners and resellers.
