Milestone Systems Introduces Generative AI Solutions for Security Operations
Milestone Systems has introduced a new suite of AI and analytics solutions designed for security operations, aimed at enabling the reliable use of generative artificial intelligence in day-to-day workflows. The new solutions include AI Search, XProtect Video Summarization, and Video Anonymization—tools that address key challenges faced by modern security teams. While generative AI is transforming many industries, security operators still rely heavily on manual processes for video review and incident documentation. Milestone notes that strict requirements for accuracy and reliability have made organizations cautious about automation, particularly due to the risks of incorrect outputs and false alarms.
An additional challenge is the increasingly complex regulatory landscape, including the EU AI Act and GDPR, which impose strict requirements on video data management. The new solutions are designed to reduce manual effort, accelerate video analysis, and ensure compliance within the Milestone ecosystem.
AI Search enables operators to find relevant video footage using natural language, while XProtect Video Summarization automatically generates structured, text-based incident reports.
Video Anonymization ensures the protection of individuals’ identities by automatically masking faces and license plates. The solutions are built on specialized models trained on real-world security scenarios, delivering greater accuracy and reliability compared to generic AI systems. Milestone will also showcase these solutions at ISC West at the end of March, demonstrating their application across VMS, VSaaS, and analytics platforms.
