ONVIF Brings Security Standards Experts Together in Budapest

Representatives of the Working Groups, Technical Committee, and Technical Services Committee of ONVIF will meet in Budapest on June 1 for their quarterly technical meetings focused on the development and advancement of industry standards for security technologies.

During the event, engineers from member companies will collaborate on a range of topics shaping the future of security system interoperability, including camera-to-cloud connectivity, video authenticity, updated cybersecurity provisions, audio interoperability, and AI architectures.

The agenda also includes a Plugfest, a structured testing environment where 12 device manufacturers and seven client software companies will validate draft specifications using real hardware and software. The goal is to ensure that future standards perform reliably in real-world deployment scenarios and meet industry requirements. According to ONVIF, these technical meetings represent a critical part of the standards development process, enabling direct collaboration between experts from across the security industry.

This year’s discussions will place particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, audio technologies, video authenticity, and conformance testing tools.

The organization has also encouraged interested companies and industry professionals to participate in its technical working groups and contribute to the development of future standards for the global security market.
