Eliminating Tailgating & Identity Fraud with AppVision: An Integrated Access Control Breakthrough

Executive Summary
In environments where physical access control is critical, badges alone are no longer enough. UltraVision Consult has implemented an integrated anti-tailgating and identity fraud detection system, combining AppVision PSIM, access control data, and real-time facial verification from CCTV. Each access event is validated by matching the badge-holder’s picture with their live image from surveillance cameras. The system also detects tailgating, as in when a second person follows an authorized one without swiping. If the second person lacks access rights, AppVision automatically triggers an alert and logs the event.

This solution not only enhances access control but provides valuable security analytics, video verification, and audit trails.

In many modern facilities, access control is the first line of defense, but it’s far from perfect on its own. While badge-based entry systems provide basic permission control, they do little to stop two common yet dangerous threats: tailgating and identity fraud.

Tailgating occurs when an unauthorized person closely follows an authorized individual through a secured door. Identity fraud in this context often means someone using a colleague’s badge to gain access to areas they shouldn’t enter. Both are difficult to detect with access logs alone. Until now.

UltraVision Consult has implemented a next-generation solution that closes these security gaps by integrating AppVision PSIM with CCTV facial verification and access control data in real time.

Each employee, visitor, or collaborator has a stored image in the system linked to their access credentials. When they scan a badge at a secured door, AppVision pulls live footage from nearby CCTV cameras and compares the live face to the stored profile photo. If the images don’t match, an alert is triggered.

Simultaneously, the system analyzes whether additional individuals enter without swiping. If someone follows and they also have permission for that space, the system logs both but doesn’t issue an alert. If the second person does not have clearance, an alarm is sent to the operator with all related data: timestamp, video, access point, and individuals involved.

This integration enables real-time validation of access events, automatically detects badge misuse, and prevents unauthorized entry without disrupting the flow of authorized personnel. It also generates complete audit logs for post-incident review and supports smarter access management by analyzing actual behavior patterns.

At UltraVision Consult, we provide more than just systems – we deliver a connected ecosystem of services that brings physical security, technology, and operational intelligence together. Through solutions like AppVision PSIM, we enable organizations to go beyond isolated access control and video monitoring, offering a centralized foundation for smarter, data-driven decision-making.

It’s this holistic, scalable approach – backed by consulting, implementation, and ongoing support – that positions UltraVision Consult as a true long-term partner in building safer, more responsive environments.

GEF: The Platform That Transforms Video Monitoring Centers into Transparent, Scalable Systems

Video monitoring centers are, paradoxically, the weakest link in the security industry. Behind thousands of cameras and the most advanced video analytics systems, operators face the same daily challenges: false alarms, delayed reactions, unarmed or disarmed systems, disconnected devices, and a complete lack of traceability.

Guard Events Flow (GEF) was built precisely to address these real-world problems. It’s not a theoretical piece of software—it was born in live dispatch centers and validated in the field, where every second matters.

From Chaos to Operational Control

In a conventional dispatch center, one operator can handle around 200 cameras. Many centers that invested in AI-based perimeter protection ended up in an endless loop of false alarm handling, losing focus on what truly matters. With GEF, a single operator can now manage over 1,500 cameras—without missing a single event. GEF redefines the monitoring model: 1 operator = 1,500 cameras properly monitored; 24/7 intelligent supervision; 0 missed events; –70% operational costs through automation and optimized shifts.

Integrated Operational & Technical Audit

The real power of GEF lies in how it merges operational and technical auditing. Every incident is captured, video-verified, and closed with full traceability. Dashboards display, in real time, with operator reaction times and critical intervals, is giving management objective control over team performance. Each server is monitored under a 30-day SLA. The platform tracks CPU/GPU load, uptime, HDD errors, licenses, and connections. For every video channel, GEF logs real vs. configured FPS, bitrate, and the active AI algorithm. Problems are anticipated, not just fixed.

What Makes GEF Different

Most monitoring platforms only pull events from intrusion systems. GEF stands apart by integrating: perimeter video analytics, AI-generated intelligent alarms, and sensors embedded in the physical infrastructure. Here, the sensors are the cameras themselves, empowered by analytics software. The monitoring center evolves from a simple alarm receiver into a unified command hub—where all security flows, from intrusion to electronic guarding, are verified, prioritized, and documented in real time.

Voices from the Field

“Our collaboration with Azitrend marked a turning point in cost efficiency and raising standards. With electronic guarding, we’ve already reduced manned guard posts while maintaining—and even improving—security levels for clients. The next step is integrating GEF into our control room. We expect GEF to deliver exactly what the industry lacks: fast alarm handling, complete traceability, equipment monitoring, and objective, automated client reporting.

This transparency will set a new benchmark for the entire market,” was a feedback from a Romanian security company.

Compatibility and Deployment

GEF is fully compatible with AziGuard, Hikvision, Hanwha, Dahua, and most existing systems. It doesn’t require large upfront investments—it leverages the infrastructure you already have. In today’s security landscape, there’s no room for improvisation. Clients demand transparency, measurable reaction times, and verifiable reports. GEF isn’t just software—it’s a new operational standard, designed from the ground up in real monitoring centers and proven in the field.
