Access Control Najave II

Bosch Smart Home and Yale join forces

Stuttgart – In October Bosch welcomes Yale, the leading smart home security provider from the ASSA ABLOY group, as a new member of its Smart Home ecosystem. With the integration of Yale’s award-winning Linus® Smart Lock, Bosch now offers all its users the option of smart access solutions for their homes. This provides many new and practical ways to integrate front doors and apartment doors into smart habits – for even more convenience and security in the Bosch Smart Home.

A smart guardian for the Bosch Smart Home
A smart home begins with a smart door – and the Linus® Smart Lock from Yale brings this to the Bosch Smart Home. The smart lock can be installed without any screws or drilling and is controlled via the Yale Access app. This feature ensures that current status can be viewed at any time and the door can be locked and unlocked remotely. Additional control is also possible by voice command via Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa. The smart door can also be opened using traditional keys if desired, consumers can choose to activate the smart lock’s auto-unlock function. Thanks to geofencing the door will automatically be unlocked when the user approaches it – a particularly practical feature for people who come home with hands full of shopping bags and their smartphone tucked away in a pocket. The perfect partner for the Linus® Smart Lock is the Bosch Eyes outdoor camera, which keeps a sharp eye on all movement around the front door. As soon as the outdoor camera detects movement, the user receives a notification via the Bosch Smart Home app, as well as the option to monitor the situation via live stream. To ensure that the camera and the smart lock work together optimally, the accompanying “Access Control” service is soon available in the Bosch Smart Home app. The Yale Access app even offers smart features for parcel deliveries or unexpected guests, with options to share a temporary virtual key.

Smart lock meets smart system – optimizing everyday life
From now on, the Linus® Smart Lock can provide support for everyday life. With its integration into individual Bosch Smart Home automations, the alarm system can be automatically activated, and scenarios can be triggered according to the smart technology “if-then” principle when locking the door. In the “leaving home” setting, devices such as the Bosch Smart Home Plug or smart lighting solutions are switched off. The lock can also be programmed to automatically lock the front door at a predetermined time, such as at bedtime allowing residents to go to sleep feeling safe and secure in their homes.
’’With Yale, we have found the right partner for our access solutions. The integration of the Linus® Smart Lock optimally completes the Bosch Smart Home user experience in the area of home security and convenience, which fits harmoniously into the daily life of Bosch Smart Home owners”, says Christian Thess, Managing Director of Bosch Smart Home, about the latest addition to the Bosch Smart Home system.
Thomas Moser, Vice President Yale & Smart Residential – EMEIA, also welcomes the collaboration “As a brand that’s committed to continuously improving its products, we are delighted to add our Linus® Smart Lock to the Bosch Smart Home system. As two well-established brands in the technology sector, we believe that together Yale and Bosch will add great value to users’ everyday lives. With our combined expertise in door locks and home security, we offer a smart access solution with the Linus® Smart Lock, which is sold directly by Bosch as an integral part of Bosch’s system.”
