ZEBRA SYSTEMS: IT services market is shifting towards MSP and MSSP services

Zebra Systems, a distributor of value-added IT security and data protection solutions, today presented the noticeable trend of the shift in the IT services market from classic hardware software sales to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) in recent years. This shift provides organizations with comprehensive management of their IT needs and security requirements, allowing them to focus on their core business.

MSPs provide organizations with a single point of contact and service that takes care of all their IT needs, including network management, security, updates, backup, and data recovery. MSSPs, on the other hand, are more focused on security, either as part of an MSP’s services or on their own.

“The advantage of MSP and MSSP services is the contractual treatment of systems uptime and the elimination of unexpected expenses in case of an incident,” said Zdeněk Bínek, Chief Executive Director of Zebra Systems. “Our partners are increasingly using MSP solutions, which allows them to monitor and protect multiple systems from a single dashboard.”

But there are still some doubts about this. According to research by N-able, a leading provider of MSP platforms to MSP providers, only 40 % of workstations are backed up every 48 hours. Just 10 % of MSPs offer DNS filtering and only one-third of MSPs are using two-factor authentication.

Today, MSSP services include network infrastructure management, endpoint, and IT infrastructure security, backup and disaster recovery, management and security of cloud applications and services, user account management, print device management, and mobile device management and monitoring.

“A good monitoring and management system (RMM) is a core part of any service provider’s arsenal, allowing them to monitor the current status of all systems and control critical parameters in a fully automated way, and receive instant alerts,” said Nebojša Stankić, Zebra Systems Regional Manager for Southeast Europe.

From IT security tools, endpoint security is a critical factor for MSPs and MSSPs, with a move away from traditional antivirus to EDR or XDR (Endpoint/Extended Detection and Response) solutions for deeper analytics capabilities. “EDR provides protection for endpoints, whether they are workstations, servers, or laptops, and typically uses detection based on multiple methods, including machine learning and AI,” added Stankić.

Data backup and recovery is another key part of IT protection, with MSP solutions like N-able Cove Data Protection or Acronis Cyber Protect. The same with network security – GFI Software recently launched  Firewall as a Service (FWaaS) enabling MSP providers to provide firewall protection through the SaaS license model in Kerio Control.

Zebra Systems believes that MSPs and MSSPs are the future of IT services and are committed to providing the highest level of service to organizations of all sizes.

WHOLE SECURITY AND FIRE PREVENTION WORLD AT SICUREZZA 2023

SICUREZZA 2023, scheduled for November 15-17, seven months before its opening confirms its pivotal role in the European Security and Fire Prevention market. With more than 250 companies registered, from more than 20 countries, and more than 80% of the trade show area already occupied, it is already established as an international hub and fully representative of the global merchandise product range.

Milan, April 28, 2023. SICUREZZA 2023 is once again a primary reference point for security and fire prevention professionals. Scheduled to take place at Fiera Milano from November 15 to 17 2023 and supported by industry stakeholders, SICUREZZA already counts more than 250 registered companies from 20 different countries and over 80% of the trade show area already occupied. The confirmed brands also include important returns and several new entries, accounting for 30% of the attendance. Thus, all sectors of the market are represented, confirming SICUREZZA as a key event for business development, networking and professional training.

The international top buyer recruitment project has also gotten off to a flying start, with membership from 25 countries and especially a strengthened presence from Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean Basin, the Middle East and North and South Africa.

Digitalisation, integrated and customised intelligent systems will be the central focus of the entire event, to provide professionals and realities from across the industry the opportunity to speak and at the same time connect: CCTV, Intrusion Detection, Fire Prevention, Access Control, Passive Security, CyberSecurity.

Like every edition, the training programme will be rich, providing a unique opportunity to learn about the most advanced solutions, to discover new skills and expertise, and to keep abreast of trends, regulations and scenarios.

CCTV: IOT AND DATA SECURITY

As part of the progressive rise of the security market, and in particular of the CCTV sector, the drive towards IoT technologies, device integration and consequently data security, is definitely leading the way.

Artificial intelligence and deep learning have indeed become an integral part of video surveillance and, as we will see at SICUREZZA, will continue to be key themes.

It is no coincidence, therefore, that an increasing variety of vertical markets – retail, transport, education, government and finance – are showing growing interest in the development of video surveillance systems, which have multiple functionalities and at the same time provide multi-level cyber protection.

ANTI-INTRUSION: INTERCONNECTION AND TRAINING

The anti-intrusion sector is now facing a progressive push towards digital, as well as the specific requirements of Smart Home and Smart Building.

Compliance with European directives, comfort, interconnection and cloud are the features of the new solutions; and remote control intrusion detection systems are leading the way.

These systems become advanced architectures capable of managing multiple functions such as alarm, video surveillance, home automation and access control simultaneously. For this reason, design, development and adaptation to standards are particularly important, but so too is the training of installers, who are the link between end users and manufacturers. Today’s networks of installers must be fully valorised and educated, through certifications and training programmes, as will be seen at SICUREZZA 2023, which has always provided a full training programme.

FIRE PREVENTION: BETWEEN REGULATION AND DIGITISATION

The global fire market is a vital sector for the safety of people and property worldwide. Made up of a wide range of products, services and solutions for fire prevention, detection and extinguishing, it is a complex system where constant attention to regulations and global market accreditation are crucial.

The global fire market is expected to see a significant increase in demand by 2027 due to the ever-increasing requirement for safe buildings and the need to comply with constantly evolving local, national and international regulations.

Digital and wireless solutions have made it possible to develop increasingly sophisticated and customised systems capable of constantly monitoring buildings and facilities, as well as optimising the maintenance and management of installations.

Many companies attending SICUREZZA deal with this vast array of regulations, practices and innovations, making the trade fair an opportunity for in-depth analysis and discussion for each industry sector.

ACCESS CONTROL: FAR MORE THAN THAT

Biometrics, QR-CODE, Bluetooth or NFC access systems are just some of the many and most recent technologies applicable to access control, making it essential to stay abreast of new market proposals for effective management of security and user flows within buildings.

After all, electronic systems have broadened the horizon of access points to include new features, ranging from attendance management to risk prevention and security efficiency; complex solutions that confirm the central importance of integration and interconnection.

SICUREZZA will be an opportunity to assess how the sector is evolving, which application areas are most in demand and the latest developments on the technology front.

PASSIVE SOLUTIONS AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY

In increasingly modern and high-performance architectural structures, passive security systems also have to adapt in the name of innovation, ensuring safety, but also design.

These three elements are required to coexist, as confirmed by many of the companies representing the supply chain that have already registered for SICUREZZA 2023, which opens a window on another important issue, that of combining these aspects with energy efficiency and sustainability, which are now more fundamental than ever.

THE CYBER SECURITY ARENA, AN ESSENTIAL APPOINTMENT

SICUREZZA 2023 wants to provide a joint response to digitisation in the security sector and the related updating, which is now the foundation of any activity in the supply chain. So the Cyber Security Arena returns. This is a trade show and training area set up by Business International, the content division of Fiera Milano, where experts, national security experts, academics and companies will analyse trends, share best practices and present the latest innovations on the subject.

The goal is to create a concrete space for in-depth study and training dedicated to professionals in the sector, that will be quick and vertical. Here, solutions and case histories for all areas of application will be presented, thus providing visitors and users with the complete and practical approach that has always characterised SICUREZZA’s offer.

The appointment for an all-round market review will be at Fiera Milano from November 15 to 17. For professionals interested in visiting the event, ticketing is already available online at sicurezza.it.

THE MILAN INTERNATIONAL BUILDING ALLIANCE: THE BUILDING AT THE CORE OF THE SUSTAINABLE REVOLUTION

MIBA-Milan International Building Alliance, the event that from 15 to 18 November 2023 will bring together four exhibitions – Global Elevator Exhibition (GEE), ME-MADE expo, SMART BUILDING EXPO, and SICUREZZA – has been presented in front of numerous institutional experts and representatives in Milan. The global proposal will show the synergy between fundamental compartments for building design, construction, and requalification.

Special attention is being paid in Europe to the reduction of the impact of buildings on the environment, with specific decarbonization targets, specifically to reach a 55% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. In the old continent, according to data from Energy&Strategy-Politecnico di Milano, 85% of buildings are over 20 years old and, at present, only 0.2% of buildings undergo deep renovation works each year and achieve an energy consumption reduction of at least 60%. In addition to that, 50% of the approximately 13.5 million buildings existing in Italy are over 50 years old.

According to ISTAT (the Italian National Institute of Statistics), the construction sector, driven by tax incentives, has been growing steadily for over a year, bringing a +1.4% growth in employment in the first three months of 2022.

This has opened up huge opportunities for all the markets involved, from design to materials, systems, and technologies. As a matter of fact, these works would push the improvement of buildings to meet new regulations and achieve European objectives by reducing the impact on the planet and energy consumption in favor of greater living comfort.

The Added Value of an Alliance

With MIBA events, Fiera Milano offers an opportunity to reflect on this ongoing revolution and grow the global markets. This is an important initiative at a time when renewed attention is being paid to the role of the building industry as a carrier of development, one that brings about concrete initiatives implemented to spur the evolution of the building sector and its green and sustainable transformation.

The synergy between these 4 events, which are the expression of the various markets that are called to interact and work together for the creation of efficient buildings, is the format through which the players of this industry will be able to discover the proposals of the most qualified companies: MIBA’s objective is to connect as much as 1,000 companies with the professionals of the sector.

Furthermore, we are proud that our UK-made products are proven to be robust, reliable, resilient and efficient and offer very effective false-alarm reduction capabilities.”

AxisGo is the new-generation, single-loop fire panel from Advanced that is versatile and packed with premium features, offering a powerful option for protecting smaller sites such as shops, restaurants, surgeries and villas. It provides cost-effective access to Axis EN range performance, quality and ease of use, in a simpler, non-networkable format for complete fire protection peace of mind. Available as a wired, wireless or hybrid system, this versatility makes AxisGo an ideal option when retrofitting onto existing systems that need to be expanded or in settings where disruption from fire system work must be avoided.

To meet demand in the GCC for both EN and UL solutions Advanced offers the Axis EN and Axis AX product ranges respectively. The Axis range is not only robust and versatile, but also easy to use – from installation and commissioning to servicing, maintenance and day-to-day operation.

The Axis EN system provides powerful networking capacity and can create robust networks of up to 200 panels. Networks can also be combined to create very large fire systems making the Axis EN ideal for complex, large-scale installations where the EN54 standard is specified. Whether networking complex, high-risk sites with complicated cause and effect, remotely monitoring networked sites, or integrating with building management systems (BMS), intuitive software and panel navigation make setup straightforward. Axis EN is also effective in minimising unwanted alarms thanks to AlarmCalm, Advanced’s built-in false alarm management and reduction software which all adds up to making Axis EN a trusted choice.

Meanwhile, the UL 864-approved Axis AX fire system makes light work of integrating smoke control and audio or voice options which are frequently required for fire systems in the Middle East. The flexible Axis AX offers integrated audio for automatic (and manual) fire alarm signalling and live voice paging during emergencies. The system also provides access to DynamixSmoke, a revolutionary approach to smoke control that uses a simple setup and programming process that radically reduces the time and associated costs of configuring fans and dampers. Whether configuring protection across a large networked site, integrating smoke control or combining an audio solution alongside a fire system, Axis AX’s powerful solutions give peace of mind that you are in complete control of your fire protection.

Advanced will also be demonstrating the versatility of its wireless offering at Intersec and will be showcasing its MxPro 5 open protocol approach. MxPro 5 offers freedom, flexibility and safety thanks to the panel’s compatibility with a range of leading detector protocols, making it ideal for retrofitting.

Also on display will be the ExGo extinguishing panel which protects critical infrastructure, data centres and sensitive sites where water extinguishing would destroy irreplaceable assets, so gas extinguishing is required. While, Advanced’s specialist redundant panel kicks in if the main fire panel stops working and offers 100% hot redundant panel protection – especially useful in settings where there can be no break in fire protection, such as large industrial plants and production lines.

Advanced is also looking to expand its presence in the GCC. The company has distribution partners in UAE, Oman and South Africa and is actively looking for new partners in the rest of the GCC and beyond, as well as OEM partnerships globally. In addition, Advanced is recruiting in the region to expand its sales and support teams. Come and to talk to the team on the Advanced stand to find out more.

For further information on Advanced and all their products tel: +971-504854165 email: skumar@advancedco.com or visit: https://uk.advancedco.com/
