Euralarm and VdS Launch the European Fire Detection Forum
Euralarm and VdS Schadenverhütung are launching the European Fire Detection Forum 2026, a new international conference dedicated to the future of fire detection and electronic fire safety in Europe. The inaugural edition of the forum will take place on December 2, 2026, in Cologne as part of VdS-BrandSchutzTage, one of Europe’s leading events for fire protection professionals. Under the theme “From reaction to prediction – the next paradigm of electronic fire safety,” the forum will bring together manufacturers, installers, system integrators, fire safety experts, regulators, insurers, and policymakers from across Europe.
The conference program will address topics including artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, the reduction of false alarms, sustainability, the early detection of lithium-ion battery incidents, digitalization, and the future European regulatory framework for fire detection. According to the organizers, particular emphasis will be placed on the technologies and policies shaping the next generation of fire safety solutions.
“The future of fire detection starts with collaboration,” Euralarm said, adding that the forum will provide professionals with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and help shape future safety standards. Participants will also have access to the international VdS-BrandSchutzTage exhibition, which is expected to feature around 200 exhibitors from the fire safety sector.
