Advancis Austria Prepares for a Strong Autumn Season on Europe’s Security Stage

This autumn, Advancis Austria is preparing for one of its busiest exhibition seasons yet, with a series of appearances at major security events across Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe. More than just a showcase of products, the company’s program underlines the growing importance of its people and partnerships, within its own team and with trusted technology and regional allies.

SecuriForum Hungary

The first stop will be SecuriForum in Hungary, where Advancis once again joins forces with technology partner Commend. The collaboration between the two companies is long-standing, and the Budapest event will highlight how communication solutions and integration platforms complement one another. For visitors, it is not only a chance to see WinGuard and Commend solutions in action, but also to meet the specialists behind them, who are ready to discuss practical applications in real projects.

Adria Security Summit

The season’s centerpiece follows at the Adria Security Summit in Skopje. Here, Advancis Austria will step into the spotlight as a Diamond Sponsor for the first time, supported by its largest team to date at the Summit. The delegation includes Sergej Piculin, Nikolai Landa, and Slavoljub Stevanovic, who will represent the Austrian team on site. They will be joined by Oliver Lacey from the UK, contributing his expertise on AIM (Advanced Identity Manager). Advancis will not only host a busy stand but also deliver a keynote on “Living and Working in a Big Data World.” The topic resonates widely, as organizations across the region grapple with how to make sense of ever-growing volumes of data. Alongside the keynote, the team will host several side events and workshops devoted to WinGuard and AIM, offering visitors a chance to explore in detail how modular integration and identity management can create value in complex environments.

“Being present with a larger group is important,” notes Sergej Piculin, Sales & Business Development Manager in Southeastern Europe. “It allows us to reflect the diversity of expertise we have, and it gives visitors more opportunities to connect with the right people.” This perspective highlights Advancis Austria’s emphasis on partnerships at every level – within its team, with technology providers, and with clients across the region.

Romanian Security Summit

Next on the calendar is the inaugural Romanian Security Summit, where Advancis sees an opportunity to engage with a developing but dynamic market. For the Austrian team, the debut event is as much about listening as it is about presenting – understanding the needs of local integrators and end users will be key to building lasting partnerships.

Sicurezza Milan

Finally, Advancis Austria will round off the season at Sicurezza in Milan, one of Europe’s leading trade fairs. There, the Austrian team will meet international partners and clients, reinforcing ties that reach beyond national borders. The event serves as both a stage for technological innovation and a meeting point for long-term cooperation. Advancis will be joined again by its Italian system partner Microlab, presenting together how close collaboration can optimize security solutions and deliver lasting value for users. Altogether, these appearances mark a step forward for Advancis Austria. By fielding larger, more diverse teams and actively contributing to conference programs, the company shows that its strength lies not only in technology but also in the people who represent it. As these events unfold, the company demonstrates that its future in the region will be shaped just as much by human connections and strong collaborations as by technical innovation.

MIBA: The Building Supply Chain At Fiera Milano

The evolution of the built environment toward greater environmental sustainability, higher energy efficiency, and improved living quality is now at the core of European policy. The transposition of the EPBD IV Directive (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive IV), together with the Renovation Wave — the EU strategy aimed at promoting the redevelopment and energy efficiency of buildings — forms the foundation for a structural transformation of the sector. The coming years will be crucial for the relaunch and renewal of the building stock not only in Italy but throughout Europe.

Within this context, Fiera Milano presents the 2025 edition of MIBA – Milan International Building Alliance, the format that, starting on November 19, will once again bring together four trade shows offering a holistic vision encompassing materials, technologies, solutions, and systems for the evolution of buildings and cities. GEE – Global Elevator Exhibition (vertical and horizontal mobility), MADE expo (construction and architecture), SMART BUILDING EXPO (technological integration), and SICUREZZA (security & fire) present impressive figures: more than 1,250 companies from 38 countries, eight exhibition halls, and significant international presence, accounting for 28% of total exhibitors. The most represented countries include Germany, Spain, Poland, France — Europe’s major producers — and China, confirming the global reach of the event.

A strong focus is placed on training and professional development, with over 100 sessions dedicated to the major challenges shared by all four markets: sustainability, digitalization, security, and artificial intelligence applications.

“MIBA is the result of a growth path that has united markets and exhibitions that were once separate, creating a system capable of transforming technological innovation and professional know-how into concrete business opportunities,” explains Paola Sarco, CEO of Made Eventi and Head of Building & Industry Exhibitions at Fiera Milano. “With over 1,250 companies, increasingly international and representative, MIBA offers a unique platform where numbers, projects, and ideas translate into real solutions for sustainable building and urban regeneration. Today more than ever, integration is the key to meeting the challenge of sustainability and leading the evolution of living spaces”.

Sustainable Construction: €20 billion in opportunities for the european market

GEE – Global Elevator Exhibition, Made expo, SBE – Smart Building Expo and SICUREZZA return together to represent the entire building supply chain: 8 halls, over 1,250 companies and more than 100 events. The Third MIBA Observatory, produced by the Politecnico di Milano, was presented: between 2025 and 2027, New European Bauhaus projects will mobilize more than €20 billion across Europe, €2.5 billion of which in Italy. Sustainability, digitalization, security and AI are the key themes driving market development and the focus of all training programs.

Cyberattack on the City of Split: Unauthorized Access to City Administration System

The City of Split has confirmed a serious cyber security incident after it was discovered that an unknown individual had unauthorized access to the city administration’s information system for several months. During that period, from June 10 to October 9, 2025, the attacker was able to view citizens’ personal data, compromising the confidentiality of information from official records.

According to the City’s statement, the incident was discovered following an internal system review, after which IT specialists immediately took measures to contain the breach and prevent further access. “The system is now fully secured, and additional security procedures have been implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future,” the statement reads.

The City of Split announced that a detailed forensic analysis will be conducted to determine the extent of the compromise and identify which databases were accessed by the attacker. Special attention will be given to potential leaks of sensitive personal information, including data related to children, medical documentation, and bank account numbers.

All citizens whose data may have been compromised will be individually notified, while a dedicated email address — SZOP@split.hr — has been opened for reporting any suspected misuse.
The Agency for the Protection of Personal Data (AZOP) confirmed that the City of Split submitted an official report on the data breach in accordance with Article 33 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and that an urgent supervisory procedure has been initiated.
