SICUREZZA 2025: OVER 120 COMPANIES ALREADY CONFIRMED MORE THAN A YEAR BEFORE THE EVENT

The industry expresses its confidence in the event, which reaffirms itself as one of the leading European exhibition.

Milan, 1 October 2024.- The organizational machine is in full swing for the next edition of SICUREZZA, which will take place from November 19 to 21, 2025, at Fiera Milano, and the sector is reaffirming its confidence in the event. Already, over 120 companies from 16 countries have formalized their participation, with representation across all product sectors and the presence of major Italian and international manufacturers.

These are significant figures, especially considering that more than a year remains before the inauguration, which highlights the validity of the project and the proactive nature of a market capable of continuous innovation. Despite the global economic challenges, the market continues to grow. According to the latest data from ANIE SICUREZZA, the Italian Association of Security and Building Automation, the Italian market in 2023 continued its expansion, which began after the pandemic, with an annual growth of 11.7% in aggregate turnover. The Fire Prevention (+12.6%), Intrusion Detection (+13.9%), and Video Surveillance (+15.8%) sectors led the growth. While domestic market growth (+8.5%) benefited from construction investments, exports provided great satisfaction, increasing by 20.3%, driven by demand from the United States (+74%), the top foreign market for sales in 2023.

“The security and fire prevention sector has so far demonstrated a solid foundation. – said Andrea Monteleone, President of ANIE SICUREZZA -However, companies now face a new major challenge: they must swiftly adapt to the mandatory implementation of NIS2, CER and CRA regulations, issued by the European Union to strengthen resilience and cybersecurity in member states. This represents a significant change for companies and organizations, requiring them to adopt new protection and risk management measures. The Italian market has all the technological and production capabilities to excel, but it is essential to quickly adapt to these new scenarios and learn to ‘work as a system’. In this rapidly changing context, the role of our Association is more important than ever in helping companies overcome potential organizational and systemic challenges that could slow their growth, and in supporting them to fully seize opportunities for innovation and internationalization. Together with an event like SICUREZZA – a showcase for industry innovation – we can provide companies with crucial support throughout the process”.

“SICUREZZA 2025,” – comments Paolo Pizzocaro, Exhibition Director of Fiera Milano – “will be a litmus test for understanding how the market has reacted to these changes a year after the application of the new regulations, and it will showcase the excellence in the security and fire prevention sectors. The event will demonstrate the evolution of a market that has always had research and innovation in its DNA and will support companies in their transformation processes. Not only an updated showcase of the latest solutions but also a business networking opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the current landscape”.

Once again, SICUREZZA 2025 will give voice to key technologies and issues of the moment. Through the offerings of leading European and global manufacturers, many of whom have already confirmed their presence, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about increasingly customized solutions for every application context, made even more efficient through artificial intelligence, which is profoundly transforming how protection and prevention challenges are addressed by improving the effectiveness, speed, and accuracy of systems.

At a time when Europe’s focus is on data protection, increasing impacts and responsibilities for manufacturers and installers, the Cybersecurity Arena will return, with in-depth discussions on the risks and potential of interconnected digital solutions.

Additionally, SICUREZZA will feature a dedicated space for drones, which are playing an increasingly central role in security intelligence – with 44% of drones worldwide used for inspections and surveys – as well as in rescue operations and civil protection, with 20% of drone applications used to monitor critical areas or emergency situations (source: Drone Observatory and Advanced Air Mobility of the School of Management, Politecnico di Milano).

A key part of SICUREZZA 2025 will be a rich and structured educational offering, which during the event will provide a comprehensive overview of the market scenario and offer professionals concrete tools to face the profound changes currently taking place.

SICUREZZA 2025 will also be part of MIBA, Milan International Building Alliance, so it will take place concurrently with GEE – Global Elevator Exhibition, the exhibition dedicated to horizontal and vertical mobility, MADE Expo, Italy’s leading construction event, and SMART BUILDING EXPO, the show focused on home and building automation and technological integration. Drawing from the success of the previous edition, which attracted over 80,000 professionals from 111 countries, MIBA will turn Fiera Milano into an international hub for topics related to the evolution of buildings and cities, thanks to the synergies created between the participating events.

Interview: Anne Frayssinet, Milipol Network Director

Under the high patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the 15th edition of Milipol Qatar, the Global Event for Homeland Security and Safety, will be held under the theme “The technology in the service of security” from October 29-31, 2024, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).

In an exclusive interview, Anne Frayssinet, Director of the Milipol Network, shares her thoughts on the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry. She discusses the role of Milipol shows in presenting the latest security innovations, fostering global collaboration, and the future of homeland security.

a&s Adria: Can you elaborate on the key factors behind Milipol’s enduring success and global recognition in the security sector?

Frayssinet: Milipol Paris is a premier event that gathers the entire internal security ecosystem, including buyers and solution providers. It serves as a hub where companies and exhibitors engage with market realities, discuss developments, and anticipate future trends. The global homeland security market is witnessing significant growth driven by increasing security challenges such as terrorism, cyber threats, and natural disasters. Advanced technologies and government initiatives are propelling the market towards substantial expansion. As technology evolves rapidly, information and communication systems become more interconnected and complex, necessitating state-of-the-art solutions to prevent system failures and malicious acts. Milipol Paris showcases the latest innovations that address current and future threats effectively.

Additionally, we have expanded Milipol events globally, including Qatar in 1996, Singapore in 2015, and New Delhi in October 2023, allowing companies to enhance their global market positions alongside leading contractors. The Milipol Network, with its numerous exhibitors, speakers, conference cycles, and workshops, offers comprehensive solutions to combat various forms of crime.

a&s Adria: The recent Milipol Asia-Pacific was a significant event. What were some of the highlights and key takeaways from this year’s edition?

Frayssinet: This year’s major highlight was the collaboration between Milipol Asia-Pacific and HTX’s TechX Summit, showcasing the central role of science and technology in enhancing public safety and national security in the Asia Pacific. The trade exhibition featured the latest homeland security innovations, while the TechX Summit hosted high-level conferences with prominent government officials, industry leaders, and academia. Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs and Law, Mr. Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam, and France’s Minister of the Interior, Mr. Gérald Darmanin, were notable attendees.

The event, themed “Powering Innovation: A Safe & Secure Future,” is Asia Pacific’s flagship homeland security gathering both public and private sector security. Significant growth has been observed in homeland security technology, particularly in AI surveillance, airport infrastructure security, and cybersecurity. Milipol Asia-Pacific’s presence expanded by 30% this year, featuring 305 exhibitors from 31 countries across a 14,500 sqm exhibition space.

Notable global companies such as AREA S.p.A, ClearTrail Technologies, ESRI, Hikvision Technology, Innovatrix, Idemia, Microsoft, NUIX, Swissdrones, Thales Solution Asia, VMI Security, and WEY Singapore Technology participated, along with country pavilions from China, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Singapore, and the USA. The HTX Pavilion highlighted innovations from HTX and key industry partners, including ST Engineering, CISCO, DXC Technology, and Samsung.

a&s Adria: Looking ahead to Milipol Qatar, what are some of the key preparations and priorities your team is focusing on?

Frayssinet: Our current focus includes organizing international pavilions, the conference program, the opening ceremony, the gala dinner for sponsors and exhibitors, and sending invitations to official delegations. We are also addressing all exhibitor inquiries to ensure their preparations for the show are seamless. Additionally, visitor registration is now open, allowing attendees to obtain their passes online.

a&s Adria: What emerging trends and critical topics in security do you plan to highlight at Milipol Qatar?

Frayssinet: Milipol Qatar attracts the leading global public and industrial security players who showcase the latest security, safety, detection, and prevention equipment, systems, and services. The event aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, addressing the country’s growing security needs. The 15th edition of the show, scheduled for October 29-31, 2024, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, will build on the success of its previous edition, which featured 222 exhibitors from 22 countries, 11,500 visitors from 84 countries, 389 official delegates, and secured contracts worth 592 million QAR. The event seminars attracted over 500 attendees.

a&s Adria: As head of Milipol events and the Milipol Network, what is your vision for the future of these events? How do you see them evolving in the next five to ten years?

Frayssinet: In an increasingly uncertain environment, protecting people and infrastructures requires constantly updated resources and solutions. Milipol events enable global security professionals, from both public and private sectors, to find the most suitable equipment and technologies for their needs by bringing together solution providers, manufacturers, and distributors. These events offer several advantages, including economic support for the security industry, strengthened bilateral cooperation between ministries of interior, and a unique platform for promoting exports from the security sector. I am confident that the Milipol Network will continue to be the world’s leading network of events dedicated to safety and homeland security, fostering innovation and collaboration in the industry.

Building Technologies Trade Fairs With a New Forward-Looking Focus

The building sector is facing many major challenges: rising construction costs and a shortage of skilled workers are colliding with an urgent need for new housing. Simultaneously, the energy and heating transition, not to mention the rapid pace of digitalisation, are creating new opportunities for a sustainable future. Messe Frankfurt has responded to the dynamic challenges in the market with a newly formed management team for its Building Technologies division.

Johannes Möller, who was previously responsible for Light + Building, has been appointed Group Show Director, Building Technologies Shows, with immediate effect. Over the last four years, a really challenging time, he successfully managed the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building-servieces technology while simultaneously expanding its international network. Against this background, he has been responsible for the management and strategic orientation of the Light + Building, ISH and Intersec brands since August 2024.

He continues to report to Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, Senior Vice President Technology. She assumed responsibility for the division 14 years ago and is also a member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt. Möller’s promotion means she will now be able to focus more on her managerial duties, while her many years of expertise will ensure the necessary continuity. “By taking this step, we have not only settled the succession for three of our most important brands at an early stage but also reinforced the managerial resources needed for our Building Technologies Industry Cluster,” explains Iris Jeglitza-Moshage.

Furthermore, she explains, “We are delighted that we have been able to find a successor within the company, especially because Johannes Möller has made an important contribution to the success of our international portfolio of Building Technology trade fairs over recent years. Now, he will be able to concentrate fully on the strategic growth of these brands in both Germany and abroad.”

Johannes Möller began his career in the trade-fair industry as a graduate exhibition, congress and event manager in the sales department of Prolight + Sound. He then spent four years as the personal assistant to the CEO of Messe Frankfurt before assuming responsibility as Director of Brand Management and Development, Technology, in 2017. After managing Light + Building, taking on overall responsibility for the Technology division is the next logical step and represents the continuation of his previous successes.

ISH will remain under the experienced management of Stefan Seitz. For the past twelve years, he and his team have been planning and organising the world’s leading trade fair for HVAC and water every two years. The management team for the Building Technologies Shows Group also includes Dominique Ewert, who is responsible for the company’s marketing-communication activities in the field of technical trade fairs.

From 1 October 2024, Steffen Larbig will be responsible for the development of Light + Building. Commenting on the new member of the management team at Messe Frankfurt, Ms Jeglitza-Moshage says, “Mr Larbig brings with him extensive international sales expertise, experience in key account management and a wealth of ideas for the future direction of Light + Building.” The next chapter in the successful development of the brand will be written in close collaboration with the highly experienced Light + Building team.

ISH – World’s leading trade fair for HVAC + Water – will be held from 17 to 21 March 2025. www.ish.messefrankfurt.com

The next Light + Building – World’s leading trade fair for Lighting and Building-Services Technology – will take place in Frankfurt am Main from 8 to 13 March 2026.

Attend the Largest Security Exhibition in Romania

Romanian Security Fair (RSF), organized by the Romanian Association for Security Technology, will take place between October 16-18, 2024 in the ROMEXPO Exhibition Center in Bucharest.

RSF’s 7th edition will take place in Pavilion B1, offering a total area of over 5.000 square meters for exhibition stands, conference areas and work- shops, media meetings or set up rooms for small business meetings.

“RSF 2024 gathers at the start more than 50 exhibiting companies from Romania and abroad, on a usable area of approximately 2.500 square meters. As in the previous edition, the exhibition will enjoy a modern space, at the highest international standards thanks to the excellent partnership and collaboration between ARTS and Romexpo… The world changes, evolves, security requirements also and obviously, in future editions we will have to consider more and more the new technologies that have definitively entered our field. Security Essen: City of Essen presents disaster control requirements plan

Trade visitors benefit from exclusive insights and expert knowledge

What to do if a disaster suddenly strikes? Whether it is flooding, a major fire or a power cut – every second counts in an emergency. Essen was one of the first cities in Germany to prepare for such scenarios with a disaster protection plan. Trade visitors to Security Essen will find out what these plans and measures look like on 20 September 2024, when the organisers will present their concept live at the security fair. “With this, we provide a unique insight into the strategies and technologies that have been developed in Essen to ensure the best possible security for our citizens,” says Christian Kromberg, Councillor for Law, Public Safety and Order of the City of Essen.

The City of Essen’s emergency response plan is a comprehensive concept designed to significantly improve the preparation for and management of crisis situations. In close cooperation, the city administration, emergency services and other partners have analysed various risks and defined specific measures in order to be able to respond effectively to different scenarios in the event of an emergency. These include, for example, severe weather events, terrorist attacks, heat waves or power failures. At Security Essen, those responsible will explain, among other things, what requirements exist here, how they are coordinated and what processes are involved in preparation, procurement and modernisation.

Exclusive added value for visitors of Security Essen

In Germany, such a detailed plan, which integrates both preventive and reactive measures for a wide range of areas and players, is hardly widespread to date. The presentation at Security Essen therefore offers real added value for trade visitors. Experts from the security industry and representatives of authorities and organisations can find out first-hand about the latest developments in disaster protection and gain exclusive insights. The organisers from the City of Essen will be on standby to explain the individual measures and strategies and answer questions. Julia Jacob, Project Manager of Security Essen: ”The presentation of the disaster protection requirements plan of the City of Essen at Security Essen 2024 underlines the importance of security technologies and strategies for the protection of our society. We are delighted to offer our trade visitors the opportunity to exchange ideas directly with experts and learn about the latest approaches in disaster prevention.”

The presentation of the disaster protection requirements plan will take place on Friday, 20 September, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the security experts forum in exhibition hall 6 and will be interpreted into English. Admission is free of charge for trade fair visitors.
